MEET OUR HERITAGE

Culture, art and traditions: this peninsular land of great natural wealth, where towns and villages have settled on the banks of the Ebro River for thousands of years. As a matter of fact , one of the oldest settlements in La Rioja was the Celtiberian village of Contrebia Leucade.

patrimonio la rioja - MEET OUR HERITAGE

But the cultural life of La Rioja does not end with its extensive old history, nowadays it is still alive thanks to vanguardist projects, reformative architecture, performing arts and music … Spanish culture and traditions are very well-known and celebrated around the region throughout the year. You might even have the opportunity to discover and join those town festivities!

In addition, the Monasteries of Yuso and Suso are World Heritage Sites and are located in the town of San Millán de la Cogolla, in the valley of the Cárdenas River, tributary of the Najerilla River, in the foothills of the Sierra de la Demanda, under the snowy peaks of Monte San Lorenzo, the highest peak in La Rioja (2,262 meters).
